Cats

The problem with cats. Trust.

Cats let people shower them with attention, but that’s not trust.

Why? Don’t ask why. When a cat has problem trusting another cat, how can one expect it to trust any other thing?

When two cats walk side by side, that’s not trust, that’s just a need for a companion. Maybe cats would like to trust each other, but that’s not in their nature. They would always be on their guard, they would try to keep the other around, but never really letting the other in. That’s why you hardly see cats walk together.

You see, cats are proud animals, and won’t admit their need for company. However, they do need it. On its own, it can run of to people, people willing to give it food, milk and shelter. So will the other cat. The cat receives whatever is showered upon it.

Sometimes, some cats forget themselves and beocme subjugated. Convinced that they are the human’s pets. Those cats are sad.

They have forgotten themselves, but never forget that no one owns a cat but itself.

But you see, cats are such intriguing creatures.

I am quite sure that if 2 cats can let each other in, they will find salvation from the pathetic plight they feel they’re in.

Though I also think it’s quite impossible given their nature.

Cats…

I think this depends on how secure a cat feels whether it trusts something else (like a human).

I know that I trust my family, but that is because they have been consistant in feeding and taking care of me. And as a result they can trust me to do my job an help them out when they need it. Whether it be curling up with one of my people when they are sick or rubbing on their leg when I know they need attention.

But trust goes both ways and takes a long time to build.

Unfortunately it only takes one wrong move to break trust.

I might have agreed with you once but… We recently rescued a ferral kitten abt. 6 weeks old. Unfortunately it had a broken hind leg. The Vet put it in a splint. Within three days i(Jake-the-Peg) was up and about. We also recued two abandoned dogs 1 a large Pastor Catalan, and the second a Portuguese Water Dog. The kitten showed no fear of either dogs, or indeed of the three humans in the household . Jake ‘s leg has mended to about 90% – his jumping abilities are somewhat lower than they should be. He is a happy and loving cat who certainly
    trusts all of us.

I think it depends. I have six cats at home, and we believe they feel secure with us. However, I agree that cats are very cunning. They come to you when they need you, and when they don’t, they’ll scratch you.

I have had many kitties in my lifetime and only one I considered “mine”. Purtygirl was truly a “people kitty”. I considered her my “shadow”. If I sat down, she sat with me. When I went to bed, she would lay in the crook of my arm and sleep with me. I can truly say I have had a kitty that gave me unconditional love throughout the six years we had together. I will never know another kitty so exceptional. I’m sorry everyone didn’t have a chance to know her and hope that every kitty lover manages to find one like her.

I don’t think I’ll ever really know why cats do the things they do. To me that’s the intrigue. All cats seem to have different personalities. I have two; one seems to have no pride whatsoever and craves love, the other is quite happy to be petted on her terms.

If you get a chance to pop by my blog, look at a post called, The Lodger and the Cat. I think it’s a good example of one sort of cat.

I will never figure them out and that’s fine with me. The probably can’t figure me out either. :)

it really depends, if you make your cat feel secure and raise it properly they will trust you and they will absolutely love you and you can trust them. but if you dont give them the real attention they need you will have issues

I love cats :) I’ve never had any issues feeling trust from them, but I think they can tell that I love them so there’s no reason to worry! =)

The trouble is, sometimes you have to betray a cat’s trust so it will let you do something unpleasant yet necessary, like trim it’s toenails or give it a bath. Here’s what my cat does in the latter case.

I love the little animals. I have one, and you can hear him by downloading the audio file at http://www.stevendaughertysblog.wordpress.com/audio/animal/cat. I hope you enjoy this recording. Btw, I think cats are very cute, and they are my favorite animals.
